In the first part of our initiative, we focus on regulating political financing. We were part of a coalition to produce a guideline entitled "Pengubahsuaian Untuk Kewangan Politik yang Telus and Bertanggungjawab di Malaysia. In the second phase of our work, we produce a report entitled Understanding Cross Border Corruption and Money Laundering: The 1MDB Chronicles Exposed".

Our profile grew internationally in 2016, and we were invited to provide inputs in both regional and international events. Among the notable events includes the consultation on grand corruption in Berlin, UNCAC review meetings and the ASEAN SDG Strategy Meeting. Our expertise in cross border corruption that draws lessons from the 1MDB scandal could help prevent illicit money outflows globally

We are targeting transparent processes at the local council level, and buy-in from the business community to reduce corruptions. C4 worked with Petaling Jaya City Council, Institute of Integrity Malaysia, local businesses and SMEs to reach out to the grassroots communities on anti-corruption campaigns. The 2 projects C4 was involved are Business Integrity and Licensing and support to MyPJ

Forest Governance is a central theme for C4 in the year 2016 and 2017. There is a strong connection between businesses and political masters to reap profits by destroying the rain forest and the livelihood of the Orang Asli. The rain forest is not only a Malaysian national treasure, but a global heritage that needs to be protected at all costs. Recognizing the depth of corruption challenges in forest governance, C4 Center works with the indigenous people intensified.

We have actively engaged with Penang and Selangor state government to organize open forums and review improvements into their legislation to improve the freedom of information and the rights to know. Some of the early success includes commitment from Selangor Chief Minister to incorporate the ideas in the Selangor State government
